I just saw this.  I guess it is sad to me to see Grants papers heading south.  From that one guys comment it seems like some of those people still think Lee was a better general than Grant.  I would tend to dispute that.

I too think it's sad that SIU lost the right to house the papers of an Illinois native son.  Just another example of how peoples attitudes can effect things.

Well, I appreciate Grant as a general, and I like him when he is a young lieutenant seeing the elephant in Mexico, but I am still a Robert E. Lee fan regardless.
