I hope that you got close to what you wanted. State Farm is noted for making a low initial offer.

Pretender,

I'm so glad you didn't go for the insulting $750. I was in a train wreck back in the 1970s. People in the next car were seriously injured because it turned completely on its side. The seat in front of me came up from the floor and into my right knee. I could walk away on my own, I was young and felt invincible, and quite frankly I just wanted to go home because I was so shaken up. I felt I was a good person for just walking away and not filing a suit like many of the others. If I added up the costs of treating that knee over the decades, it would be astronomical. I was in physical therapy for 8 months one year, walking with a cane.

Is it possible to put a dollar amount on something like this? NO! But it helps to get some recognition of responsibility in this crazy system that exists. The important thing is that you got what you think is fair. BRAVO!

What should I be?

My first inclination was to just make the insurance pay the bills due to the accident. State Farm's initial offer was $600. Dollars don't ever pay for permanent injury and make it go away. I started looking at this situation as business and put aside being humble. I don't want to take anyone for a ride, but wanted fairness. Thanks!
