We have a new name and everything looks great.  If I am not mistaken this forum is almost a year old.  What was the exact date we started posting here?  We didn't have a McGregors back then but I think we should have a celebration on our 1st anniversary.... It's getting close......
I think that's a great idea and as most people are aware McGregor's can hold the greatest of parties.

Just another suggestion, I am not real talented at alot of things but I know others are when it comes to creating things on the computer.
Can't the members design the new logo for The Briarpatch then let the members vote on which logo best fits this site? Just a suggestion. It appears the membership represents a democracy on this site and what better than to have the members decide on the appearance?

Great idea about the logo and the party. If I'm not mistaken our first anniversary is November 6, 2005.

That sounds like a good idea to me.  The logo would need to be able to fit in an area 50 pixels high by 400 pixels wide.  For right now if anybody has a logo design you can post it in this thread.  Once we have some submissions I can set something up for voting.

Correct me if I am wrong, however I think it was Pat Testa who suggested the name "The Briarpatch.  So what kinda reward should Pat get?

The reward for me is the acceptance of my ideas. I am a very creative person and I love it when others like my ideas...

One of my favorites was actually an idea spawned by the mischeif of GA's Grandson when we were all getting ready to attend Mom's funeral. GA was all dressed nicely and her Grandson came up and sat down on her lap and told her he loved her. We were sitting on the front porch at the time and she was in front of the mailbox. You know how sometimes we put the clip clothespins on the box to hold outgoing mail....well, he had clipped the pins to the back of her outfit and made us promise not to tell. Well, she walked around for a while and didn't notice...except for the snickering...and just before leaving for the service...I told her she needed to rmove the clips from her shirt....as she did....she yelled..."Shaaaaawn"

Well, when I got home, I bought some little clothespins and made little guys with eyes and noses and hair and wrote little messages on them...like "you're special" or "God loves you" or "I like you"...and the purpose was to clip them on someone without them knowing...and I sent them to her Grandson. I called them "Gotcha Guys"
I used small pins and then found some tiny plastic pins that there was only room to print "gotcha" but it was easier to pin them without being detected.
I think he had fun with them....I know I had fun making them. I took pictures of them and used my reading glasses to give you an idea of how small they were.

I can attest to the fact that he had fun with them and his Youth group loved the ones that said God Loves You.

Has anyone responded with a Logo yet? I know we must have some talented people on here. I'm just not one of them. My computer has alot of capabilities but I don't utilize them. I hope somebody comes in with a spectacular design.

Well, I was goin' through an old tin box and found a "worry stone" and three S&H Green Stamps.  I'll donate the stamps but I've been worried a long time wonderin' where that "worry stone" was.....so I think I'll keep it.   undecided

"Somewhere" around here I have one of those worry stones.  Flat with a finger tip indent to rub?  Now you will have me worrying where mine is. LOL.  I've been here at Mom's house for almost 3 years now and I still can't find things.  I could tell you exactly where it was in my old house, but even tho I used a lot of the same spots Mom did to store things, I still have things packed away so well they are probably lost forever.
