Our oldest daughter has been included in a special magazine recognizing Super persons in her field and Rising Young Stars. The magazine will be out tomorrow but she rec'd a copy today and mailed it to her dad and me.

Even if it is only that her name is on a list and I don't know what the format is, but even if it is that, there are few who make the list and we are proud of her.

My Granddaughter Sami plays for the Kennedale Lady Cats and they are in Austin right now. They won the playoff with W.Oso Basketball team...and will play for the Championship on Saturday at 10:am. Bill and I listened to the game on AM radio and it was really exciting...the won 60 to 59 and I swear I could hear Ann-Marie in the background yelling. Sami didn't play in this game...but just the fact that she is good enough to be on the team...is good enough to make us proud wink grin

Here I am to brag about my Grandson, Benny this time. He is playing baseball and is in his senior year in high school. His batting average is .729...35 hits in 48 times at bat. Ann said his average is the highest in the State and he is #3 in the nation. Needless to say he is being looked at by several colleges. We are all very proud of him. My grandchildren are good athletes and just good people Cheering

On that same note, one of the kids who was on Shawn's Little League team started for the LA Dodgers on Monday night.  His name is Blake DeWitt and he is a really good all around player.    His mom went to church with Paul and Eric when they were young.

Tell Benny to keep an eye on Blake, as he had the same kind of records Benny does and signed a million dollar contract with the dodgers right out of high school.  It was his dream and it came true.

Tell Benny to "keep his eye on the ball!"................ wink

Ann always said, when Benny was younger, that he was going to play professional baseball and take care of his parents in their old age.
Maybe he will actually do it...! wink

I'm here to brag about my Grandson again. He was chosen MVP of his team and has been picked to play on TWO different ALL STAR teams. It is unusual for someone from a small school to be picked for these games and one of the teams, he was picked out of players State wide.
Also...during a practice game a couple of days ago, he was followed around by a reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and they took pictures and interviewed him. Ann said she doesn't know when the article will make the paper...but I will certainly be watching for it and let you know. I am so hoping he will be chosen for a college that will pay his way and give him a chance to further his baseball future. His coach seems to think that all of this publicity will have offers coming in from all over...YAY Benny!!! Cheering
