I'm not sure I'm posting this in the correct area but Helpful Things sounded like the appropriate place.
The purpose is in hopes we can help each each locate items that are difficult to find.  This may include something from the past [whether it be antique or reproduction] ,newer items that have been changed due to new designs, and/or handy items we have found very useful.

My specific plea today is for sheets that fit a "regular" sized mattress.
1994 I purchased a Sealy mattress/box springs. This bed is still like brand new so replacement is not an option.   Besides .. I'm 5' 3" -I would break my neck trying to climb in 'n out of the new beds.  My son has one and I honestly cannot climb up into this bed!  I have visions of "stepping out" of bed half asleep and doing some serious bodily harm.   BangHead
My problem .. my mattress is is 8" deep - I cannot find sheets to fit.  Every set I've seen state they fit UP TO anywhere from 13" to 18" mattress.  I just ordered a set that has elastic all the way around thinking this would make the fitted sheet snug .. NOT !!  If it weren't for the front of the frame, it would honestly fit over mattress AND box spring.
Do you know who may carry regular size sheets (with a decent thread count) ?
Last resort will be to use flat sheets and wrap them as tight as Mother taught me   wink

================
I have purchased some items that are unusual and most useful .. will share later.
For now .. I need to wash bed linen since I have it stripped to try new sheets.  We don't want to get back into that discussion ........   angry

I hear ya girlfriend !   I had the same problem with the sheets until we bought a new mattress, the larger sheets get all wrinkly in the middle of the bed and I like them tight fitting.  I don't know anywhere where they sell the smaller fitted sheets.  My suggestion would be to buy a topper for your existing mattress.  We bought a gel topper for our guestroom mattress, to make it more comfortable and our guests love it.  It would also add some height to your mattress, maybe enough to make up the difference.
