Well hopefully I gained your attention somewhat.  So I may not be all that exciting, but hopefully you are interested enough to read till the end...lol.

Ive read alot of the blogs and thought what the heck, I would put one up.  So no time like the present I say.  First off let me do a little PR for MDA and Jerry's Kids.  ( I promise to blog more about me and my adventures after my work has been done for my current cause cool )

I thought I would start off my blog'in with a plea to my forum friends and family.

I was summoned to report for "lock up" on the 21st of June at the Heron here in good ole Danville my hometown to help raise money for the MDA to help towards  research to help fight Muscular Dystrophy.  My ticket to freedom from "Jail" is in the hands of my friends here on the forum.  The "Bail" that I raise will go to help fund research and to send Jerry's Kids to summer camp.  Its a specialized camp that meets the needs of those who have different types of Muscular Dystrophy.  The summer camp provides alot of kids the opportunity to attend camp since alot of them have unique special needs that wont allow them to attend most summer camps offered to children that were fortunate enough to not have MD.

Here are some figures I received with my "Jail" Packet:

$25 pays for a Flu shot
$65 funds one minute of MDA Research
$100 covers an MDA support group session
$150 pays for a physical therapy consultation at an MDA clinic
$200 Provides an initial diagnostic workup at an MDA clinic
$600 Pays for a week of fun, friendhip and laughter at MDA Summer camp for 1 child
$650 buys 10 minutes of MDA research
$1200 Covers 12 months of support group meetings
$2000 Can assist with the purchase of a Wheelchair of set of leg braces
$3,900 buys 1 horu os MDA research
and $6,000 Sponsors 10 children at MDA summer Camp

I have a soft spot for kids and ultimately I would love to be able to send 10 of them to camp, but I know at this point it is a little out of my league.  I have enough at this point to be able to provide an initial diagnosis at a MDA clinic.  Thats not good enough for me though.

I ask everyone who reads this to PLEASE help me out with this.  I will not be collecting money personally.  What I am doing is asking you to send me a PM with your name, address and pledge amount.  I will then turn in a payment voucher to MDA when I go for "Lock Up".  MDA will then send it to you at the address you provide.  The only exchanging of money will be between you and MDA.  Remember any donations will be tax free and you will be provided with a receipt from MDA so you can put it with your taxes.

Remember I only have till the 21st of June....any amount is accepted.  Every little bit helps.

Lets all band together and ask your friends to help also.  All you will have to do is pass me their name, address and pledge amount and with everyones help we can help out a good cause.

Thanks for staying with me this long, I really appreciate the help.

Well just thought I would update everyone on how my mission to raise "bail" is going.  Ive had a really good response to my effort to help MDA and I really appreciate everyones help.  If not for my forum family I wouldnt be near as fortunate.  I have tried to send a message to all those who have helped me out, if I have missed anyone, I apologize.  I would like to extend a very sincere THANK YOU to everyone.

The day is nearing when I have to "turn myself in" and actually im getting pretty excited about going to "jail", in this sense anyway...lol.  I still have about $200 to raise and we still have time.  I sent off a couple faxes today to a couple people and hope I get a response from it.  Even if I dont make "bail", I know I have made an effort and will be proud of what I did accomplish.

Thanks again everyone.  I will be keeping in touch.

Update on my progress.  I have broken out the calculator and my last estimate was a little off.  With all the pledges I have recieved (thanks to everyone who has sent me messages) I am now $135.00 shy of my goal.  I missed someone on my list during my last post, I didnt realize I had went to another page.  I am in the final 4 1/2 days of my quest.  I havnt had any responses to the fax's I sent out last week, but there is still time.

No rain here yesterday, although it did look like it was getting a little dark to the west.  Rained this morning and still looks gloomy out like we could get more at any time.  I dont mind rain, but prefer to have the full throttle storm though.  Makes the rain a little more exciting.

Enjoy your Sunday!

      THANK YOU!!!!!! [/color]

I want to take this time to thank everyone who helped to "bail" me out of jail.   I had collected $685 prior to going today and while there I was able to collect a few more pledges.  My grand total of pledges raised was $760.00!  I was VERY pleased with the outcome and owe it all to my friends, online and off as well as a few family members.  I really appreciate the support.

I was a little disappointed with the atmosphere though.  I guess I expected a big hooplah and alot of people to be there.  The appetizers they served were cold and appeared pretty much "left over" from earlier.  Besides me, 3 others from work were there to make bail.  Two of us succeeded.  There were two others there trying to raise their bail also.  Cell One donated phones and air time so that we could call people and places to raise money.  Even with the volume up, they were very hard to hear out of. Reception was really bad and I ended up using my Verizon phone to call people and actually be able to hear them.  Maybe if we had went earlier in the day things would of been a little more happening.  Oh well, was for a good cause and between the 7 of us at work we raised a total of $1,792.00.  We were pretty proud of that.

Thanks again everyone!!!!   Angel
