Dave bought us a bread machine a couple months ago and we have been having loads of fun trying the recipes in the booklet for our Sunday dinners together.  Is anyone a bread machine expert with recipes or tips to share?

Teresa, my friend Janet has one and loves it.  She says she especially likes the more healthy/wheat bread recipes.  I'm trying to get her to share, LOL, but so far I haven't gotten any samples.  I will ask her for some of the recipes.

This is a recipe for wheat bread that my friend Janet sent me.  It's a bread machine recipe:

WHOLE WHEAT GRAIN BREAD

1 Tbs oil

1 ¼ cup + 1 Tbs warm water

1 ½ tsp salt

2 Tbs brown sugar - packed

3 Cups whole wheat flour

3 Tbs vital wheat gluten

¾ Cup seed/grain mixture (I use a generous ¾ cup mixture of millet, oat groats,  sunflower seeds, walnuts and red wheat berries)

1 ½ tsp yeast

I add the seed/grain mixture to the flour at the beginning of the cycle and I’m happy with the texture.  You might get more texture if you add it at the beeps.

Makes about a 2 lb loaf

Thanks, Butterfly!  We'll give it a try and see how it works.  We're really having a good time with this and have made a pizza bread with 1 part water & 1 part tomato juice, sun-dried tomatoes, string cheese and Italian spices.  It's a winner!
