If you go to steam corner flea market on 41 south of Veedesburg in Indiana there is always a stand there that sells big containers of various spices.  Reasonable prices.

I buy small amounts of spices in old Town St. Charles. There are two or three shops that sell bulk spices. i use several in potato salad and meat loaf and I want those to be fresh.  I am one of those that has ten year old jars on the shelf and I never used them. Why don't I pitch them!!

Save the jars for the fresh ones!

From the opium of custom...To the ledges of extremes..Don't believe it till you've held it..Life is seldom what it seems..But lay your heart upon the table..And in the shuffling of dreams..Remember who on earth you are.

I keep a good supply of canned goods on hand.  The key is to rotate the cans and keep the oldest in the front to be used first...
