I've enjoyed posting on the Commercial News forums and plan to continue to do so, however I have very much come to dislike all the baiting and other distractions that go unchecked there when discussing political opinions.  So I decided to take a shot at making a forum where such ideas can be discussed in a more constructive way.  I think this is especially important in light of the recent election.

I do believe that one focus here should be on what can be done to at least slow down the Bush agenda.  However that is only my opinion at the moment.  Hopefully others will have input into what type of forum this should be. And ultimately what we come up with will be a result of the consensus of those that post here.

Right now there are two sections in this forum.  The planning section is for any topics to do with what this forum should become.  The opinions part is for opinions on anything.

I am really tired of the feeling I get when someone twists my posts on the CN forum to mean something entirely different from my intent. I will devote all my energy to this forum instead. I think the CN forums deserve the coming brain drain.

I get sick of hearing things like "war is war", maybe they should just say "shit happens" instead.  The fact is we shouldn't be over there killing people and it's not for OUR freedom.  I get so angry, HOW IS IT FOR OUR FREEDOM !!!!!!!    What are we doing to these young people by sending them off to a war for oil.  Look at the thousands who have been wounded, not only physically but emotionaly.  It's not ok, do you hear me, WAR IS NOT OK !!!!!  What is wrong with these people?Huh

I think some people root for the US the way they root for a sports team.  They can't  see their side as ever doing any wrong.  If it had been an Iraqi doing the same thing to a US soldier these same people would be screaming about what barbarians those Iraqis are.

This website is a perfect example of the two Americas that exist now. When the people who stalk and harass started their own thread I understand it was anything goes. I also understand it was pretty disgusting. You might say this thread is also anything goes. The major difference being this thread is composed of responsible adults who can handle freedom and operate with compassion. Let's all give ourselves a pat on the back!
